Answering Your Questions about the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Draft Methodologies Report
Since the July 9th launch of the public comment period on the draft Methodology report, we have had the opportunity to connect with and hear from many engaged individuals with a diversity of perspectives on the draft report’s proposals. We have also received a number of questions about the draft report and the process behind it. Today, we’re sharing a new FAQ that addresses some of the most common questions we have received to date.
Questions like:
- What’s the role of the Federal Government in this process?
- Why have any other category than green?
- Would a nuclear plant, CCUS project, or critical minerals mining project be eligible for the taxonomy?
We hope this new resource provides greater clarity to all seeking to learn more about and participate in the taxonomy’s development. We are grateful for the interest that so many have shown in this process and look forward to closely reviewing the rich feedback we are receiving through the Public Comment Portal. A reminder that the deadline for submissions is August 13, 2026 (midnight PST).
