Prepare to Participate: A Guided Tour Through the Public Comment Draft of the Canadian Taxonomy Methodology Report

The public comment draft of the Canadian Taxonomy Methodology Report opens for public feedback on July 9th. This webinar, hosted by Business Future Pathways and the Canadian Climate Institute Sustainable Finance research team, will take you on a guided tour through this essential and foundational document.
This event is designed to support individuals and organizations who plan to participate in the Methodology Report consultation. But it is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Taxonomy development process and what it may mean for your sector, community, and Canada’s future.
This presentation will cover key elements of the newly released draft report, including:
- What a taxonomy is and why Canada needs one
- The proposed categories and definitions for a made-in-Canada taxonomy
- A proposed approach for ensuring that economic activities, across all sectors, meet a high enough bar for inclusion
- A proposed approach for creating the social and environmental guardrails to prevent unintended consequences for communities and nature. This includes honouring Indigenous rights.
There will also be time for your questions.
