Developing Canada’s Sustainable Investment Guidelines
On July 9, 2026 Business Future Pathways released a Draft Methodology Report for public comment over a five-week period, concluding on August 13, 2026.
The What We Heard Report summarizes the feedback received on the Draft Methodology Report through multiple avenues, including feedback submitted through Business Future Pathways’ online Public Comment Portal; input from the Taxonomy and Transition Council’s official Financial Sector, Technical, and International Advisory Groups; and views shared through Indigenous perspectives sessions. This input will inform the final version of the Methodology Report to be published in October 2026.
The final Methodology Report will serve as the foundation for the taxonomy, establishing its guiding principles and underpinning the development of sector-specific technical screening criteria, which will determine which activities in the Canadian economy are climate-aligned and under what conditions.
